On the Wings of the Dove

Within a comparatively short time people were flocking to this little-known country on the Celtic fringe of Europe from neighboring countries and across Europe. A decade later and all five continents had experienced the ripples of revival. On the Wings of the Dove traces the expansion of this revival and its continuing impact today. What is striking is the fact that one country, that is Wales, had such an influence on so many countries in such a brief period of time. Dr Gibbard writes, 'Never had such a phenomenon been witnessed in the history of revivals.'

Revival came to Wales at a time when the foundations were being shaken. There were great changes in communication and travel, social and political structures were in turmoil and Christian values and dogmas were under attack. This movement of God's Spirit challenged these worldwide changes.

'The story which the author tells is an exciting one, that holds out a glorious prospect. As long as it is the day of grace, what God did then, in the days of Evan Roberts and others like him, he can do again now, in our day. For this reason I heartily commend it.' Eifion Evans
